'Tis the season for cookie decorating, and here at Delish we're in full swing. We make tons every year and just when we think we've done them all, it turns out there's more to do! These sugar cookie trees might look tricky, but they're actually a breeze.

Start with store bought cookie dough, or your favorite recipe. Form cookies into 1, 2, and 3 teaspoon balls of dough. This keeps your cookies uniform and your trees looking super profesh. Bake them 5 minutes, take the smallest cookies out, and place the remaining cookies back in the oven to bake 3-4 more minutes. Let them cool completely on a cooling rack so your frosting doesn't get all melty when you're ready to pipe!

Next comes the buttercream! We used our favorite recipe and dyed half green, but feel free to go wild on the colors! Pipe thin lines around the edge of the largest cookie, stack the middle cookie on top, frost some more, and top with the teeniest, most adorable cookie. Finish it off with a twirl of buttercream and your favorite sprinkles. Don't forget the star! (Alternatively: the yellow mini M&M!)
