'Succession's Sarah Snook Subtly Confirms Birth of First Child

Succession might've ended for the fans, cast, and crew, but for one of the show's actors, it marked the start of a very important new stage of life.

Sharing a photo from her couch at home as she watched the series finale, Sarah Snook—who plays the main character Shiv Roy—subtly revealed that she gave birth to her first child. Specifically, alongside the new photo, her little one's head can be seen at the bottom.

Snook emotionally captioned the snap, "It’s hard to express what this show has meant to me. The places I got to go, the immense talent I got to work with…it breaks my heart that it is all over. But my heart had to be this full of all the memories, good times, challenges and triumphs, to be able to break at all…so that makes me grateful."

She continued,"I just watched the final episode of the final season of something that has changed my life. And now, my life has changed again. Thank you for all the love and support."

Snook didn't directly address the baby in the photo, but that didn't stop other people from pointing the youngster out.

Actress Phoebe Tonkin commented, "Congratulations Sarah. (And a second congratulations on that little head too in frame too) ♥️♥️."

Australian TV presenter Lisa Wilkinson wrote, "You were utterly extraordinary as Shiv, Sarah. Thank you for taking us on such an extraordinary ride…and what we all know will be one of your MANY career highlights. Meantime, enjoy this brand new ride with your little one. Congrats on it all…and enjoy! ❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏."

Many more friends, peers and fans congratulated Snook and praised her performance, including Katie Couric, Rachel Brosnahan, her Succession co-star J. Smith-Cameron, Melanie Lynskey, Chelsea Handler, and more.

Snook's new baby is her first with husband Dave Lawson, whom she married in 2021. She is yet to share the name. The actress is also stepmother to Lawson's child from a previous relationship.
