Tensions keep running high for the Roy empire, and tonight, it may reach an entirely new boiling point after creator Jesse Armstrong teased Succession episode 8 as the most shocking one yet.

Episode 3 pulled off an exceptionally heart-pumping Sunday night for the platform, recording a series high of 2.6 million people tuning in. After its plot twist, we didn't imagine anything topping it. But in the wake of their patriarch's death, Kendall (Jeremy Strong), Roman (Kieran Culkin) and Shiv (Sarah Snook) never cease to find conflict.

Only three more episodes stand between now and the end of season 4 and thus, the conclusion of the HBO Max series. So, understandably, viewers are spiraling over what's to come, with some even predicting a fatal ending for another one of the lead characters.

It all began when The Hollywood Reporter asked Jesse at the March premiere which particular episode offered explosive value. "Maybe episode 8?" he teased to the outlet. "Hopefully, all of them."

Reacting to the eerie response, one fan posted a video on TikTok — that nearly 24,000 users liked — with an audio clip saying, "Uh oh." They captioned the video: "When Jessie Armstrong said that the most shocking episode of Succession season 4 is episode 8, and episode 8 comes out on Sunday."

Based on the replies, it looks like Succession fans fear a tragic fate for the youngest Roy sibling.

"Someone's gonna die, I'm calling it. 😭😭 It BETTER not be Roman," one person wrote in the comments. "The fact [Jesse] said that [episode] and not episode 3 scares me," a different user said. "All I can think of is Roman giving his eulogy and going insane because he has been having these fits of rage ... ," another added, picturing Logan's funeral.

Considering Roman's unraveling in recent episodes, like firing Gerri (J. Smith-Cameron), it's not unlikely. Much of the theory gets its gas from an episode 9 synopsis that fails to mention Roman.

It reads: "As the family girds themselves for an emotional funeral, Kendall finds himself at odds with Rava ... and inopportune news from Jess. Later, Shiv tries to reposition herself within a new political landscape, as Kendall rallies supporters to his side."

Not naming Logan (Brian Cox) specifically, some think the ambiguous description leaves room for another unexpected death in the family. But as contrary fan comments suggest, Jesse's earlier comments were a possible red herring from episode 3's surprise.

Other minor predictions include Connor (Alan Ruck) somehow getting a presidential arc. Perhaps, all will be resolved at the end of episode 8, titled "America Decides," which sets the scene on election night as Tom (Matthew Macfadyen) works the newsroom, while the Roy siblings spar over the results.

The promo teaser previewed Roman going at it with Shiv. “False flag,” he says, as she fires back, “You can’t just say ‘false flag’ every time you don’t f------ agree with something.” Roman spitefully repeats “false flag,” mocking her irritation. Ever the colorful Roy siblings.

Regardless, it's bound to be an intriguing road to the season finale on May 28.
