We’ve reached the point in the year where getting dressed feels like an impossible task. It’s still cold in the morning, but by the end of the day, it’s warm and sunny, and you’re left a sweaty mess. That’s why layering is your best friend for surviving springtime temperatures, and with the help of personal shopper and wardrobe stylist Elisabeth Kassab of StylistCheck, I curated a list of everything you’ll need from Amazon to get the look.

Kassab recommends starting with a few basic tees that you can either layer on top of each other or throw on under a button-down shirt or sweater. She specifically loves overshirts made of linen since “it’s such a thin, breezy fabric that lays so nicely over a T-shirt or tank top.” Plus, a lightweight cardigan or pullover looks “cozy and chic for spring,” she added.

Keep reading for more of Kassab’s best spring layering tips, and check out the five Amazon fashion pieces you’ll need to stay cool, comfortable, and stylish this season, below.

A lightweight cardigan is “a crucial piece in my spring wardrobe,” Kassab said, and this Amazon Essentials style certainly fits the bill. Made of a cotton blend, the crewneck cardigan comes in a whopping 27 colors and an inclusive size range from XS through 6X, so you’re bound to find a version that fits well and meshes with your wardrobe. As for styling the sweater, Kassab advises wearing it “with a T-shirt underneath, paired with white jeans, and a belt to tie it all together.” Plus, you can throw it on over a dress to keep your arms warm and add an extra element of style to the look.

Crewneck Sweater: The Drop Alice Crewneck Back-Slit Ribbed Pullover Sweater

“A great crewneck sweater is essential year-round in my wardrobe,” Kassab said, since you can “throw it over quite literally everything.” Get the look with this ribbed pullover from The Drop that comes in 10 colors, including neutral shades, bold brights, and spring-ready pastels. It has drop shoulders for a lived-in look, as well as flowy bell sleeves and a slit on the back for extra ventilation. Style it à la Kassab with “a good pair of Levi’s jeans, sunglasses, and flats,” or go for a monochromatic look with matching cropped, wide-leg pants.

Linen Button-Up: Gap Linen Easy Shirt

We already know that Kassab is a fan of linen for spring, but she specifically recommends pairing a button-up, like this Gap style, with “a long sleeve T-shirt underneath, a straight-leg jean, and sandals.” The shirt comes in 14 colors and patterns, each with a high-low hemline, single patch pocket on the chest, and button cuffs. Plus, a shopper confirmed that it’s “very comfortable” and a “must-have basic,” which is all you can ask for from a $30 shirt.

White T-Shirt: Hanes Originals Tri-Blend Curved-Hem Tee

$7 at Amazon

Kassab described a good white T-shirt as “an art form,” since the “styling possibilities are endless.” But for spring, she recommends throwing it on “under a crewneck sweater with denim shorts and moto boots.” Check off the T-shirt box with this Hanes Originals tee that’s on sale for just $7 with an on-site coupon; it’s made from a cotton blend with a slim-fitting silhouette, an exposed seam down the center of the back, and a ribbed crewneck collar. Plus, according to a reviewer, it “washes well with no shrinkage.” I already have one in my cart.

Trench Coat: London Fog Double-Breasted Trench Coat With Belt

$107 at Amazon

It doesn’t get more classic than a trench coat for spring, and this is your sign to finally invest in a good one. The London Fog Double-Breasted Trench Coat has all of the timeless features of the style, including a ventilation flap on the back, fabric belt, shoulder epaulets, and slanted slip pockets. Kassab loves a trench for “dinners or date night out,” she said, adding that she would “style this with a slim-fit tee underneath, black jeans, and heeled sandals.” Talk about chic.
