Stylist Ramòn Garcia Created the "Ghost Layers" Haircut That Will Soon Take Over Instagram

Ramòn Garcia has created ghost layers, a haircut technique that allows hair to keep growing long while allowing for movement and texture within the look.

For the first time in a very long time, getting ghosted is about to actually be something you ask for. That's right — there's a brand-new haircutting technique called ghosting that actually brings takes the terrifying dating term and brings it back into a positive light. The technique, created by stylist Ramòn Garcia, is called "ghost layers" and was first reported on by New Beauty. It has beautiful results, as you can see by scrolling through his Instagram.

Many of us have experienced the horror of sitting down in a stylist's chair to ask for a bit of an update while growing out our hair, only to lose a bunch of length. Garcia has found a way to help his clients change things up a little bit and add some texture and movement back into long hair without sacrificing length, and that's with his new technique. In an interview with Mane Addicts, he says of ghost layers, "It’s a technique that adds movement and texture while giving the illusion of a one length haircut. It works for all types of hair, so it really is the best of both worlds."

He also did a video explaining and demonstrating the technique on his Instagram, where you can see him going in to chop off excess length in the layers underneath without cutting too much from the total length of the hair. It really is a great technique for anyone who wants to keep their hair long but wants more movement or to lighten some of the weight for the hotter months.
