This Stunning Hawaiian Beach House Was Designed by Cher—And It's For Sale

If walls could talk, most homes would have plenty of stories to tell. But listen closely in this Big Island estate and you’ll find that these walls will surely sing.

That’s because the visionary who brought them to life is none other than pop icon Cher who, while racking up an impressive list of accomplishments in music and film, was also apparently quietly honing her craft as a decorating genius.

Throughout her decades-long career, the media-dubbed Goddess of Pop bought and sold a long list of properties from Los Angeles to Miami, often working side by side with designers and architects to custom build her personal dream homes. Then in the early 2000s, she snatched up an enviable piece of oceanfront Hawaiian real estate at the exclusive Hualālai Resort and worked with architect William Long to design a stunning Bali-style manse atop it—presumably, with no intention of ever living there. “Apparently, she loves to design homes,” Rob Kildow, director of residential sales at Hualālai Realty, told Mansion Global.

As far as beach homes go, Cher’s labor of love is certainly a looker. Standing at a stately 9,400 square feet, the contemporary Indonesian estate is clad in stucco and stacked stone with Sapele and African Mahogany wood trim. Intricate stone-carved art decorates the façade and adds a hint of exotic flair. The Balinese styling extends to the interiors, too, where vaulted and beamed ceilings, rich woods, stone accents, and sweeping views give the home a sense of place.

Designed as a series of separate pods, the main home features the entertaining areas and master bedroom, all of which open onto expansive oceanfront lanais. Five additional bungalows feature en suite bedrooms with outdoor shower gardens, a garage, and media room. Elsewhere on the property’s 33,000 square feet, owners can bask in a goddess-worthy infinity-edge pool with never-ending ocean, sunset, and golf course views.

If this sounds like your paradise, you’re in luck. The current owner—GoDaddy founder Bob Parsons—is looking to unload the gorgeous pad fully furnished, in all its touched-by-Cher splendor, for a cool $10,995,000.

We’re sold. Now if only we could turn back time and have the pop queen herself here, too. See more photos of this Hawaiian heaven below.
