Students in Cumberland County arrive in style on Drive Your Tractor To School day

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– Students in Cumberland County went to school Wednesday on a different set of wheels.

They skipped the school bus and the car and took their tractor for a spin. Big Spring High School encouraged students to take part in Drive Your Tractor To School day.

There’s a lot of farming done in the Newville-area.

“It shows of ag, and kinda promotes what we do around there,” Jackson Houldsworth said.

“Driving around the farm, its fun to drive a tractor, stuff on the arm, rake bale, its something cool to show off your tractor to the school, the community,” Cord Hetrick said.

The tractor riders got prime parking spots Wednesday. At the end of the school day the students formed a small tractor parade before heading home.
