A teenager who was caught on video sneaking up behind her oblivious teacher and smashing an egg on her head has been admonished by her school district.

Oklahoma City station News 9 reported on the video, but its origin was not immediately known. In it, a teacher at U.S. Grant High School in Oklahoma City sits at her desk and talks to a student, while another softly creeps up, takes aim and smashes the egg on the teacher’s head, and then rubbing the raw yolk into her hair. Kids observing in the classroom, meanwhile, laugh, while the surprised teacher faces the perpetrator, holding up her hands.

A spokesperson from Oklahoma City Public Schools tells Yahoo Lifestyle that two teens were involved in the late February joke — one student distracted the teacher while the other cracked the egg. That week, another school in the district held a fundraiser for which students could crack eggs on teachers’ heads if they met certain academic goals, although kids from U.S. Grant High School were not participating in that challenge.

“We take this very seriously, even if it was in jest, regardless of the intention,” says the spokesperson.

Yahoo Lifestyle reached out to a few parents in the community but did not hear back from any.

“District and school officials are aware of the incident that occurred at U.S. Grant High School,” reads a district statement sent to Yahoo Lifestyle. “The safety of OKCPS students and staff is our top priority and we take any act or threat of violence very seriously. The students involved have been disciplined in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct. The teacher involved was not injured and has returned to her classroom.”
