Stuart Weitzman Celebrates Giovanni Morelli’s Debut Collection at New York Fashion Week

Shoe fanatics were abuzz when Stuart Weitzman announced in 2016 that he was handing over his creative director title to Italian designer Giovanni Morelli. Fans wondered what would become of the Stuart Weitzman brand and where the talented Morelli would take the luxury footwear giant. All questions were answered at the Stuart Weitzman New York Fashion Week presentation and cocktail party, where Morelli debuted his new creative vision for the iconic, Gigi Hadid–endorsed brand. With a new attitude and expansion into handbags and accessories, Morelli ushered in the new era of Stuart Weitzman. On his long-term strategy for the brand, Morelli told Vogue, “I would like to make everything a bit more cohesive in terms of point of view, to have a consistency between the store, the campaign, the product, and the collection. I am also really looking for more of a diversity in terms of women, any kind of woman, and that doesn’t mean younger or older, it really doesn’t matter. It’s about all women, which I think is the future of the brand.”
