YouTube and advocacy organization Global Citizen are teaming up to present their third COVID-19 fundraising event, Global Citizen's VAX LIVE: A Concert to Reunite the World. The upcoming benefit concert will be hosted by Selena Gomez this Saturday and will air on a number of television networks as well as YouTube and Hulu starting at 8 p.m. EST and 5 p.m. PT.

Within the last year, YouTube and Global Citizen have partnered on two other fundraising events, One World: Together at Home and Global Goal: Unite for Our Future, both of which served to leverage COVID-19 relief amid the current pandemic. Their third special, VAX LIVE, pushes to raise awareness and accessibility to COVID-19 vaccination and promote greater equity in vaccine distribution, calling on global corporations and philanthropists to bring "dollars-to-doses" for 27 million frontline healthcare workers in the world’s poorest countries.

On Friday, Global Citizen posted a video on Instagram featuring remarks by actress and human rights activist Nomzamo Mbatha regarding the event.

"[VAX LIVE] gives hope and it says thank you to the people that have carried us through this pandemic," said Mbatha in the video. "But most importantly, what I love is that it speaks about vaccine equity, which is a huge conversation because nobody, no matter where they’re born, should be left behind when it comes to vaccinations, and, of course, the resources that are supposed to be there for them to have access to the vaccine."

Below, find out everything you need to know regarding the upcoming event, including powerhouse performances, special celebrity appearances, and where proceeds will be donated.
