This ‘Stranger Things’ Theory About the Next Villain Is Wild

Stranger Things fans have a theory about who the season 5 villain could be, and it’s giving us more questions than answers.

As fans of the Netflix Original will know, season 4 finally came to an end over the weekend, when the streaming service dropped the last two episodes on July 1. Since then, various different theories have been going viral on social media, not only questioning who Eleven’s real dad is but also speculating about who the villain in the next series could be.

*SPOILERS*

So far, Hawkins has faced the Mind Flayer, the Demogorgon, the Spider Monster, and Vecna, and now Reddit users think a new villain could be introduced for season 5.

Speculation suggests fan favorite Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), who was sadly killed off in season 4, could actually return as Dungeons & Dragons character vampire villain Kas, thanks to the fact that he was being bitten by the bats multiple times, and turn on Vecna.

“Eddie is not dead,” the theory begins. “[Stranger Things creators] the Duffer Brothers have said that you cannot die from the bite of a bat. (Yes, you can eventually bleed out, but the bite alone will not kill you.)

“I have this theory that Eddie will become Kas, the vampire. (He is another creature of D&D.) Kas is the right-hand man to Vecna, Kas eventually turns on Vecna and defeats him. Kas has a significant weapon, his sword, as well as [a] shield with spikes on it (just like Eddie’s trash can shield with nails in it).”

While the theory *is* interesting, some fans replied to insist they think Eddie definitely died, while others questioned why Kas would turn on Vecna anyway. Hmm.
