New Stranger Things Season 4 Teaser Reveals Hopper Isn't Dead

OMG. OMG. OMG.

The perfect Valentine's Day gift has been given to us all today with the release of a new trailer for Stranger Things season four.

The new trailer first appeared on the Stranger Things Twitter account. Captioned "From Russia with love" — a nod to the 1963 James Bond film of the same name — the clip takes us deep into the wilderness of the Soviet Union. As the camera pans around, revealing guards on snowmobiles and carrying guns, we see prisoners building train tracks in the snow. The camera moves to one prisoner in particular and then, in a perfect reveal, the man takes off his cap and we see that it's Hopper.

Hopper. Is. Alive!

In a statement released alongside the teaser trailer, the Duffer brothers commented, "We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway — and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper. Although it’s not all good news for our 'American'; he is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human…and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…"

With Hopper confirmed to be alive and stuck working in a Soviet gulag, it's probably a safe bet that at least one Stranger Things character is going to travel from the U.S. to Russia to save him. To be fair, we knew big things and new horizons were coming to Stranger Things when an official statement from Netflix for season four (as reported by Entertainment Weekly) included this line: "We can’t wait to see what the Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of the Upside Down." The statement also included a comment from the show creators, who shared at the time, "We can’t wait to tell many more stories together — beginning, of course, with a return trip to Hawkins!"

We still don't have a complete idea of what to expect for Stranger Things season four, including when the season will actually premiere. But until then, check out the latest Stranger Things trailer featuring Hopper below, and some super excited reactions from fans.
