'Stranger Things' Fan Theories Predict How Eleven Will Recover After Season 3

  • The last episode of Stranger Things season three saw Eleven losing her powers

  • She removed a piece of the Mind Flayer from her leg, and then wasn't able to use her powers anymore.

  • But fans believe they know how she'll get her powers back.

On Stranger Things, Eleven's powers of telekinesis and ESP have been a major part of her story-until now. The last episode of season three saw Eleven powerless after being bitten in the leg by the Mind Flayer. She was able to remove the piece of the monster that remained in her leg after being attacked, but after that none of her powers seemed to be working.

Our sweet, strong Eleven, who once threw a car across a mall, now can't even lift her teddy bear off a shelf. And, of course, fans online decided to respond to this new development with a whole lot of memes.

However, some fans online have a theory as to how Eleven could get her powers back. On Reddit, SomeYotedThing explained that Eleven may have just overexerted herself physically and emotionally, and her powers will come back after she's feeling better:

"I feel like it might have something to do with her emotions. Hopper died, El and Mike hit a rough patch in their relationship, and the Byers moved away... Els powers were the strongest when she was mad, and now she's all sad and depressed so it kinda makes sense. It could also be from overexertion because in the past seasons she would rarely get double nose bleeds, but in this season she was double nose bleeding quite a lot... I'd assume they'll come back when she gets back together with Mike and stops mourning over Hopper, or maybe #8 [Eleven's sister] will help her find them in Season 4."

On Twitter, mileven_3inches had a different idea. "Eleven lost her powers when she had to bring out the little flayed thing she had inside her leg...after that she couldn’t bring them out anymore. But in a spam of 4 days she had to use them so much I expect her powers to come back during a strong emotional moment."

ImBriannaRosexo also believes that Eleven will get her powers back, but she won't be able to find Hopper because of the prison he's in.

While a fourth season of Stranger Things hasn't been confirmed yet, we're pretty sure the hit Netflix show will be renewed for a new season, and the mystery of Eleven's powers will be resolved. Hold tight.
