The "Stranger Things" Creel House Is for Sale
Stranger Things season four introduced us to the Creel House, a creepy location with a dark past played by a real Victorian-style mansion located in Rome, Georgia. And now, it turns out the actual home can be yours as it’s officially on the market for $1.5 million.
Listed by the brokerage Toles, Temple & Wright, Inc., the home was built in 1882 at 906 E 2nd Ave. It once operated as a bed and breakfast called the Claremont House until it was permanently closed in March 2019. It was then purchased as a private property for $350,000 in July of that year, according to Zillow.
The one-acre lot includes a main house and guest house. As far as the layout goes, the “main house now includes five or six grand bedrooms and five stunning bathrooms (a sixth bathroom is roughed in),” according to the listing description. The next buyers can “easily establish an owner’s suite on the main floor and/or the second floor."
The interiors will surely give you Stranger Things flashbacks, especially in the foyer and dining room. Many of the main home’s original details are still intact including the mansard roof, built-in bookshelves, moldings, an antique wall safe, and even a cast iron urinal. The renovated kitchen is equipped with new appliances, custom cabinetry, a 15-foot island and dining table combo with black marble, and a walk-in pantry.
Behind the main home, the Gothic-style guest house includes a sitting room, two or three bedrooms, a kitchen, and a renovated bathroom. It can be used as anything from a caretaker’s residence to an Airbnb rental.
