"Stranger Things" Cast Attends Season 3 Premiere at Santa Monica High School

After years of fighting monsters together in the Upside-Down, the cast of Stranger Things clearly has a strong bond. Their unshakeable friendship was once again on display when the stars of the hit Netflix series turned up at the Season 3 premiere, which took place on Friday, June 28 at Santa Monica High School.

As Deadline reports, the school was transformed into the show’s fictional Hawkins High School, complete with cheerleaders and a marching band (but, alas, no Demogorgon). After screening the first two episodes, the festivities continued at the Santa Monica Pier, where the cast played games and screamed on rides, reminding us of the opening to the newest Season 3 trailer. According to Deadline, the Stranger Things-themed fair will be open to the public at the Santa Monica Pier through June 30, after which it will move cross country to Deno’s Wonder Wheel Amusement Park at Coney Island from July 5 through July 7.

From pictures that soon made their rounds on social media, it was clear that the young stars of the show — Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Priah Ferguson, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, and Natalia Dyer — had an absolute blast celebrating the series’ third season.

In one pic, Noah is seen helping Millie on the black carpet by holding up the flowing cape to her ruffled bubblegum pink dress. “He’s the Ryan to my Blake,” the actor who plays Eleven joked on Instagram. Finn also couldn’t resist sharing a highlight featuring Millie, posting a dancing photo and writing: “Stranger Things: The Musical.” (10/10 would watch.) And Noah posted some choice ‘grams from the pier, including one picture where he and Caleb are clearly having way too much fun on a roller coaster.

Season 3 of Stranger Things will be available to stream on Netflix starting Thursday, July 4, and according to the cast, we’re in for an even more terrifying journey than the first two installments. “This season will definitely be darker, scarier and you’ll have a lot to look forward to,” Priah told Deadline.

Ahead, check out some more photos from the Santa Monica bash, and don’t forget to clear your schedule to watch the entirety of season 3 when it hits Netflix in just a few days.
