Well, we just found out that the Stranger Things boys are just as obsessed with High School Musical as the rest of us. Yep, you guessed it — this makes us adore them even more than we already do. We got the DL from the young men’s appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Nov. 2nd. While talking to Fallon, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Finn Wolfhard, and Noah Schnapp revealed what they did together on Halloween. But before we get to that, let’s just point one thing out. How awesome is it that they hang out just as much off-screen as they do on?

Back to their Halloween night. The boys did something we’d most definitely do any night of the week — they watched High School Musical. Not only do we love that, we also love that they admitted it, as we can def think of some guys who wouldn’t. (But just so you know, dudes — we see it in your Netflix queue.)

Apparently, Matarazzo’s sister was a fan of the HSM franchise when the movies came out, and he knows words to the songs as a result. (Hint: You can hear him belt out a lyric on the Fallon clip below.) Plus, Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink is a fan, too. Peer pressure to watch HSM?! Definitely the best kind of peer pressure there is!

What did the Stranger Things boys think of HSM?

“It was weird,” both McLaughlin and Matarazzo told Fallon.

Okay, fair. Especially if they don’t necessarily have crushes on Zac Efron’s character like we do. But we’d vote that it’s more a good weird than a bad weird. And when you watch the boys on Fallon’s show, you’ll see what we mean.

On Fallon’s show, Wolfhard mentioned that he even started playing basketball “because of Zac Efron.” Which, BTW, Zefron loved.

Wolfhard also does an impression of Zac, aka Troy, on the show, which is a must-see. You can check it out here — where the boys talk about things other than HMS, too, and they’re very entertaining.

Regardless, we love that the Stranger Things boys are HSM fans…or sort of, at least. Even though they said “it’s weird,” when you watch the above, you’ll see that they seemed pretty excited about the movie. And that makes the HSM part of our hearts very, very happy, of course.
