The Storm Has Arrived In Utah; Resorts See First Dump

Yesterday morning, Snowbird Alerts issued a report that NOAA is forecasting 7-11 inches throughout the day.

With the traction law in place, the X/tweet also wrote, "if you're planning on driving up the canyon today be prepared for a snowy commute." See below.

Although the storm slightly underperformed (Snowbird saw 6 inches in the last 24 hours) the conditions were still greatly improved, and pow turns were on tap.

Solitude received 8 inches over the last 2 days, and Alta received 8 inches in the last 24 hours.

NOAA's Cottonwood Canyons forecast shows that the active period will continue, with periods of light snow through Saturday night.

This will be near a northward moving warm front, with snow ratios trending towards 10:1 with time. Another, stronger system will cross the area Saturday night into Sunday morning, continuing into Monday morning.

All in all, another 8 to 16 inches of snow is possible with this storm for Utah resorts.

OpenSnow echoes this sentiment. 29 inches are possible in the next 5 days for Alta, and 13 more inches in the following 10 days after that.

We've seen Miracle March, what are we calling April (because it seems like it's going to be pretty incredible, too).
