Stone Island x New Balance Made in UK Unveil UK 991v2 Collaboration

(UPDATE) September 28, 2023: A closer look at the Stone Island x New Balance Made in UK 991v2 is here as the sneaker is hitting shelves next week on October 4.

The understated sneaker boasts a somber color palette of olive, gray and black -- a perfect option for the fall season. While the silhouette's on-foot imagery showcases it in a gritty, low-light environment, an up close and personal look showcases its dark and captivating design.

Following an early October release in North America, the Stone Island x New Balance Made in UK 991v2 collaboration will be available in China in select Stone Island stores and via WeChat Store from October 9. The sneaker will also be available globally on the official New Balance website on October 18.

Stone Island and New Balance are joining forces once again and is revamping the New Balance 991v2, extending the Boston-based brand's Made in UK collection.

Inspired by industrial environments, the 991v2 sneaker is covered in hues of olive, grey and black, nodding to the grittiness of clubs, trains and bars with hints of the flora and fauna peeking out from the concrete jungle. The new shoe is comprised of a mesh upper modeled after latticed metal grids. Nubuck overlays add softness, joining texturized leather and reflective detailing, aiding in nighttime visibility. New Balance's familiar "N" logo rests easy in its usual lateral position, whereas Stone Island's Compass sits on the tongue.

Arriving in co-branding and custom packaging, the Stone Island x New Balance Made in UK 991v2 collaboration will be available on October 4 via Stone Island's website and select Stone Island stores. Take a closer look in the gallery above.
