These Stickers Are a Genius Hack to Get Designer Wallpaper for Less

From House Beautiful

If you're a regular reader of House Beautiful, you know we're big fans of Flavor Paper. The Brooklyn-based company has redefined an ages-old design element in fresh, unexpected ways—from scratch-and-sniff wallpaper to invisible ink—and used its platform for great causes, like fundraising for food organizations during COVID-19.

Of course, since its papers are hand-screened on insanely high-quality backing, Flavor Paper doesn't come cheap (though if you're in the New York area, make it a point to catch their annual sample sale, where they sell discontinued and slightly imperfect rolls at SUPER discounted prices)—and usually requires a skilled professional to install. But there's good news for those who may not have the budget for several rolls plus labor—or just for those fans of funky wall decor who are living in rentals or can't make up their mind on design—and it comes in the form of Flavor Paper's wall stickers.

Offered on the company's site in it's slightly below-the-radar "merch" section, Flavor Paper's wall decals come in two styles: Banana Scratch and Sniff and Dollar Signs. Both decals are inspired by the art of Andy Warhol. The banana echoes Flavor Paper's beloved B-A-N-A-N-A-S! wallpaper by Michael Angelo (seen in a colorful Nashville home by JL Design above) and the Dollar Signs are drawn from the aptly-titled Money paper, which pulled dozens of dollar signs drawn by Warhol over the course of his career into a graphic print.

Depending how you arrange them on your wall, these decals can give the look of Flavor Paper's most iconic wallpaper—or inspire a creative new take with a fresh pattern (a bunch of bananas? A fruit bowl? A dollar sign stripe?) or colorful background color. The Banana stickers come in a set of seven identical bananas, while the dollar signs come as a pack of 8 assorted sizes and colors. Both are $45—a steal for a custom wallpapered look!
