Those who've been watching the SATC reboot since it debuted in December know several of the original series' mainstays, including Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis, returned to reprise their characters.

The core group of women (sans Kim Cattrall's Samantha Jones) were joined by a number of other actors — like David Eigenberg — who played supporting roles in the late 90s-early 2000s comedy-drama and also signed on for the reboot.

David appeared throughout Sex And the City as Steve Brady, the on-off love interest and, later, husband of Cynthia's character Miranda Hobbes.

In And Just Like That..., which has started multiple conversations about its portrayal of aging, Steve has partial hearing loss. It turns out this particular storyline was rooted in David's real-life experience with hearing loss, as writer Elisa Zuritsky recently explained in an interview with Vanity Fair.

"When [Michael Patrick King, the showrunner for And Just Like That...] reconnected with David Eigenberg about the show, the very first thing that David said was, 'I got hearing aids,'" she said. "It was literally what he led with."

Elisa went on to note that David's hearing loss not only inspired Steve's storyline, it actually influenced how he approached and discussed this change on the show. "That actually wound up being Steve's tone about his aging," said Elisa, before praising both David and his SATC character.

"Everyone on the show, every single person, loves David Eigenberg as a human being," she shared. "We love him as an actor. We love Steve. We are really invested in the Steve-ness of him. He's so full of life, and the Steves out there are good guys."
