  • Steve Harvey's talk show is ending today, a little over a month after NBC announced the program's cancelation.

  • In May, the network also knocked Steve off his hosting gig at Little Big Shots.

  • Ahead of the final episode of Steve, the daytime talk show host shared an inspiring message to his Instagram followers.

It's a sad day for Steve Harvey fans as Wednesday marks the official series finale of his talk show. But even on such a hard day, Steve is still finding a reason to remain hopeful.

Ahead of his last episode, Steve shared a clip on Instagram from his final day on the show. In it, he makes it clear that he's choosing to see the positive and focus on what's next.

"Seven years coming to a close. This is good though, man. You gotta understand how it works. Your life ain't nothing but a book. I happen to be 62 years old. I am in the middle of my 62nd chapter of the book that I'm writing. There are some good books in there, too, there are some good chapters and some bad chapters. And some chapters that lasted a little bit longer than I wanted to ... But in this 62nd chapter, I got my finger on the corner of the page. All I'm doing is I'm about to turn it. I can't wait to see what God's got for me on that other page."

His own son, Wynton Harvey, echoed his dad's optimism, teasing in the comments section, "If they only knew what was next."

Apart from Wynton, countless other fans offered up kind words of support as well. Many said they were "going to miss Steve" but "couldn't wait to see what's in the next chapter."

Whatever his next chapter entails, there's a good chance it won't include any projects with NBC. In the span of three days last month, reports came out that the network canceled his talk show after seven years (to make way for Kelly Clarkson's new program this September) and was replacing him on Little Big Shots with Melissa McCarthy.

Reports of Steve getting canceled first surfaced in January. Back then, the talk show host made it clear that he wasn't happy with the way NBC was handling bumping him off the air.

"I'm just an old school guy, and I just thought that you're supposed to just talk to people and just go, 'Look, you've been good business for us. This is what we're thinking of doing, are you okay with that?'" he told Variety. "No, you just don't put something in the paper and say, 'I'm just going to make this move right here,' because it's crazy.'"

Regardless, Steve is still on Family Feud and will likely resume his duties as lead host of the Miss Universe pageant and Fox's "New Year's Eve with Steve Harvey: Live From Times Square."
