Steve Coogan Nails the Half-Suit

If you’ve ever seen The Trip, the first thing you might think of when you see a photo of Steve Coogan is Michael Caine. His Michael Caine impression is that good! "I've buried 14 Batmans... I'm not going to bury another nylon cloak with pointy ears that people wear at birthday parties..."

Probably the only thing more difficult than going toe-to-toe in an impressions contest with fellow master of wry British humor Rob Bryden is making two-thirds of a three-piece suit look this good. Coogan threw on a matching houndstooth jacket and waistcoat from his Savile Row plug, paired it with a tonal plaid tie, and then, like in The Trip sequel The Trip to Spain, things go a bit off the rails. But Coogan displays a keen understanding of when to deploy tailoring separates. In this case, houndstooth trousers would have brought this look back to the ’30s. But his black trousers and lizard lace-ups turn it into a fly inversion of that British sartorial classic, Morning Formal. Now here're some more Coogan impressions.
