Stephen Colbert accuses Tucker Carlson of stealing his bit

Stephen Colbert called out Fox News host Tucker Carlson on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert Tuesday night. It wasn’t just Carlson’s lack of coverage of the unprecedented FBI raid of Trump attorney Michaels Cohen’s home, office, and hotel room, it was because of what Carlson opted to cover instead: Pandas. Colbert played a clip of Carlson saying, “You know the official story about pandas. They're cute, but adorably helpless, which is why they are almost extinct. But, like a lot of what we hear, that's a lie. Pandas, it turns out, could easily kill you if they felt like it. Thank god they don’t.” “This segment was insane,” Colbert said. “How do I know? It is literally something I did on my old show, The Colbert Report, when I played an insane person.” He then played a clip from his old Comedy Central show from 2011 in which he said, “For too long, our mortal enemies, the Chinese, have been using pandas' cuteness to infiltrate our hearts. Never forget that they are panda BEARS— godless killing machines.” Colbert exclaimed, “Tucker Carlson stole my bit!” It wasn’t just the bit or the ridiculousness of covering pandas instead of the raids. Colbert also pointed out something Carlson steals on a nightly basis saying, “He also stole acting incredibly stupid while wearing an ill-fitting suit.”
