Stella McCartney and the Macallan Just Dropped a New Whiskey and Glassware Collection

The Macallan Harmony Collection’s past releases have focused on flavors that are both associated with and pair well with whisky: chocolate and coffee. For the brand-new third edition, however, the distillery has gone in a different direction and chosen to collaborate with Stella and Mary McCartney who are sharing their memories of Scotland through gustatory and visual means.

The new Macallan Harmony Collection consists of two different whiskies: Amber Meadow and Green Meadow, both matured in a combination of sherry casks and bourbon barrels. The packaging includes photographs taken of The Macallan Estate by Mary McCartney, and the labels and boxes were made from cuttings from the meadows surrounding the distillery and other natural materials. “The 100 percent natural summer evening color derived from our exceptional sherry seasoned oak and bourbon casks reflects the richness of the flavor which awaits,” said whisky maker Steven Bremner about these single malts. “On the nose, fresh citrus fruits and honeysuckle are complemented by hints of vanilla, coconut and ripe barley fields. On tasting, notes of oak, lemon, melon are prominent, accompanied by flavors of classic scone and almond with green tea, before giving way to a rich and sweet long finish.”

But it’s not just whisky that is part of this new collaboration. There’s also TOGETHER: A Collection for The Macallan by Stella and Mary McCartney, which consists of a series of 11 “lifestyle pieces” designed by the sisters. The entire list of what you will find is as follows: a pair of glass tumblers; glass water jug, ice bucket, and brass tongs; ceramic flask; pair of ice stamps; set of three ceramic bowls and six coasters; brass napkin weight and tray; lambswool blanket; and a pair of framed photographs of The Macallan Estate taken by Mary McCartney. “We all—The Macallan, Mary and I—wanted to create a collection that celebrated the highest quality of materials and incredible craftsmanship that would be fitting of the shared values between us all,” said Stella in a statement. “We envisaged pieces that were limited, yet would work together as a family. The idea was to have it live in your home, stand out, and of course be of the highest quality.”

The TOGETHER Collection is now available globally, but won’t arrive here in the U.S. until December. The same goes for Amber Meadow (SRP $210), but you can currently find Green Meadow (SRP $185) available to purchase at The Macallan Airport Boutiques in different countries. In the meantime, you can find past Harmony Collection releases available to purchase from websites like Wine.com now, and the entire Macallan lineup from ReserveBar.
