Stefan Cooke Men’s Spring 2024

Stefan Cooke returned to the runway of London Fashion Week with a pre-loved collaboration with Mulberry for spring 2024.

Brand cofounders Stefan Cooke and Jake Burt reinterpreted 27 vintage Mulberry bags with oversize handles, button straps, bow and braid motifs, and slash patterns, all of which are signature elements of the six-year-old label.

These one-off creations will hit Mulberry’s first pre-loved pop-up store on Poland Street for nine days right after the show on Friday.

“We love the idea of reworking and refining pre-loved bags and bringing a new level of history to designs with an exceptional level of craft. It’s amazing to be working with and being part of the history of a brand that we’ve found aspirational for such a long time. This feels like a real marriage of ideas and a new blueprint in terms of pre-loved design,” said Cooke.

The accessories were the star of the show but there also were refined leather boots with military-inspired hardware that were equally eye-catching.

In terms of clothing, the duo presented some “statements and ideas” pieces that include studded check ponchos and floor-length skirts, as well as boxy neoprene tops and ruched tops that seem to be inspired by Balenciaga’s Nicolas Ghesquière era.

The simpler looks felt more interesting and confident, such as a beige knitted top with Pegasus motifs, a green top with stars around the shoulders, and a gray biker jacket with the brand’s new SC logo subtly placed on the front pocket.
