You Can Stay At A Real-Life Barbie Malibu Dreamhouse, Fully Stocked Kitchen Included
Barbie's Malibu Dreamhouse has come to life. Airbnb, continuing its run of pop-culture-related rentals, is giving four guests the little kid dream of a lifetime by renting out a Malibu mansion decorated just like Barbie's. Naturally, there is pink everywhere, as well as an infinity pool, personal movie theater, sport court, meditation space, and outdoor dining patio. It's a modern-day Barbie world.
The catch? It's only available for one weekend. Because of that, though, the one-time, two-night stay is a full-on experience. Whoever is first to book (reservations open October 23 at 11 a.m. PDT) will get to hang out with celebrity hairstylist Jen Atkin, take a fencing lesson with medalist Ibtihaj Muhammad, go on a behind-the-scenes tour of the Columbia Memorial Space Center with an aerospace engineer, and take a cooking class from Gina Clarke-Helm, who runs a business called Malibu Seaside Chef. Lest you forget, Barbie is a homeowner and entrepreneur!
It sounds like a jam-packed weekend but there will surely be downtime to take a dip in the pool, watch a movie in the home theater, raid the fully-stocked fridge, and dress up in some of Barbie's most iconic outfits. Be warned, these photos might just convince you to turn your home Barbie pink.
Surprisingly, the gorgeous home doesn't come at a huge cost. To celebrate Barbie's 60th anniversary, the rental, which sleeps four, is just $60 a night plus taxes and fees. To note, the booking is only open from October 27 to 29, when Barbie is on vacay in Austin (they committed to the theme, and I respect it).
