For those looking to break away from the typical tent, RV, or cabin camping setup—or to bring your days spent playing Oregon Trail to life—the Kentucky campground Horse Cave KOA is offering stays in old-school, Conestoga wagons. And, yes, they’re definitely more glammed up than they were in the mid- to late-18th century.

Three covered Conestoga wagons are available for overnight stays on the campground in Horse Cave, KY. On the outside, they resemble the horse-drawn wagons of hundreds of years ago. Step inside, though and it looks as though you’re in a small hotel room. Each wagon can fit up to two adults and two children. There’s a king bed, small bunk bed, chairs, tables, and electricity for lights, heat, and air conditioning. You’ll have to use the bath house across from the wagons for any bathroom trips, though. Along with the inside wagon space, there’s a designated area outside of it that you can set up however you please–whether that involves whipping out your portable grill or setting up a few chairs to lounge in.

The wagons cost $150 to $160 per night. You can book your stay on Horse Cave KOA’s website or call them at 800-562-2809 to make a reservation. The campground also offers other unique stays in teepee tents, airstream trailers, yurts, treehouses, and camping cabooses–along with the basic RV, tent, and cabin options. You can pretty much find whatever type of nature adjacent sleeping situation you desire there!
