The State of the American Penis Survey
Methodology: Men's Health conducted this survey of 1,284 men and women in the United States in March of 2019 using Survey Monkey Audience.
We also analyzed your answers by age and ethnicity. It turns out guys aged 30 to 44 were the most satisfied, with 35% saying they love it. When we looked at ethnicity, black men had the most positive feelings, with 57% answering they love it. ON the other hand, 30% of Hispanic men expressed that it could use supersizing-almost double the national average.
These numbers did not vary hugely when analyzed by age and ethnicity, but Hispanic men and white men were the most comfortable, at around 42%. Younger guys were the most uncomfortable, with 54% of 18-to 44-year-olds saying they get changed quickly.
Yup, lots of guys are comparing themselves to porn stars, especially guys 18 to 29, at 56%, and 30 to 44, at 55%. Take note: New research reveals the more a man watches porn, the more likely he is to worry about his penis size.
Whoa! Respondents were nearly 4.5 times as likely to prefer having their annual salary leaked as a picture of their penis. In this regard, the penis stills serves as a modern demarcation between public and private life.
We're calling BS here!Only 34% of guys admitted to ever sending a dick pic. Among men who said yes, guys 30 to 44 were most likely, at 47%, while among 18-to- 29-year-olds, 43% had sent DPs.
If yes, under what circumstances did you send the dick pic, and did it have a positive result?
These answers revealed good dic-pic etiquette. The majority of favorable results occurred when the partner had asked that a private photo be sent (22%) or it was a quid pro quo situation and the guy was sending a photo in exchange for a private photo he had received (21%). In these situations, the photos helped build intimacy and were part of foreplay.
Ripped from the headlines! Our survey found that around 2 in 5 guys have gotten into trouble because of their penis. One age group stood out: Guys 45 to 60 were the most likely to get into trouble, with 23% admitting to flirting inappropriately and 20% copping to horniness leading to an illegal activity, like sex in public.
These answers were consistent when analyzed by age, incomer, and ethnicity. However, 1 in 3 men aged 45 to 60 and half of guys over 60 complained of ED. And white men complained of ED at higher rates than other ethnicities
Our survey revealed that guys dial back on the maintenance when they hit 45, and the majority don't manscape at all by 60. Among guys who do, 46% said they trim or shave occasionally, and 17% said they trim, shave, or wax regularly
We collaborated with our colleagues at Women's Health on these questions. When analyzed by age group, the answers revealed that as women got older, they compared less. Among those aged 18 to 29, 52% said yes; 30 to 44, 41% said yes; 45 to 60, 39% said yes; and over 60, 38% said yes.
Good news: 3 out of 5 women don't experience penis-reveal anxiety! Among those who do, small size and cleanliness were main concerns.
Younger women preferred guys to groom more, already. Among women aged 18 to 44, only 24% said men should grow it. That number increased to 44% for women 45 to 60 and 74% for women over 60!
