Today, November 21st, Starbucks released its Toffee Almondmilk Hot Chocolate. We’re predicting that by tomorrow, this drink will completely clog your Instagram feed. It’s a treat to indulge in a yummy Starbucks seasonal drink. But if you’re feeling ambitious, here’s how you can make your own Toffee Almondmilk Hot Chocolate at home.

The Starbucks website conveniently lists what goes into their new beverage. The Toffee Almondmilk Hot Chocolate contains “steamed Almondmilk, mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup,” the site reads. It’s then topped with whipped cream and “a crunchy Caramel Brulée topping.”

Let’s first tackle the mocha sauce. Lydia’s Flexitarian Kitchen food blog has a super simple recipe to craft your own mocha sauce at home. In fact, you probably already own most of the ingredients you need. This homemade mocha sauce recipe yields two cups and will stay good for a month when refrigerated.

Next, you can buy a bottle of Toffee Nut Syrup from Monin’s website for $9.95. This stuff is the real deal and is meant to be used in lattes, mochas, cocktails, and other coffee drinks.

The crunchy Caramel Brulée topping is the only ingredient that might trip you up. We recommend checking out this Cinnamon Sugar Crumb Topping recipe from Julie Hasson on cookstr.com, which can act as an easy-to-make substitute.

Grab some almond milk and whipped cream at your local grocery store, and you’re ready to brew! If you want to get ~really~ fancy, you can learn how to froth your almond milk from the Wife Mama Foodie blog.

Your homemade Toffee Almondmilk Hot Chocolate might not taste exactly like the Starbucks version. But we can assure you that your creation will be a sweet, delicious, and made-with-love, alternative.
