Starbucks Is Releasing a Serious Strawberry Frappuccino
Your colorful beverage dreams are coming true. After releasing a set of holiday tumblers and a trio of Japan-only drinks decked out in our favorite hue, Starbucks is finally adding the perfect 'gram-worthy magenta Frappuccino to its permanent menu.
According to a press release, the new Serious Strawberry Frappuccino is basically an endless swirl of strawberries and cream, resulting in a magenta hue: to make it, the barista starts off with strawberry fruit puree, adds the Strawberries and Crème Frappuccino (an ice, milk, and strawberry infusion blend), and tops it all off with more strawberry puree and vanilla whipped cream. Um, that's basically a Frappuccino inside a Frappuccino.
The Serious Strawberry Frappuccino is the latest addition to the coffee chain's summer menu. Back in May, Starbucks revealed it would be expanding its menu to include an Ultra Caramel Frappuccino and a Triple Mocha Frappuccino. The Ultra Caramel Frappuccino is sweet cold brew, whipped cream, and dark caramel sauce layered with dark caramel coffee Frappuccino (Frappuccino Roast coffee and milk, blended with ice) and topped with more sweet cold brew, whipped cream, and dark caramel drizzle, according to a press release. The Triple Mocha Frappuccino is basically the same thing, but with caramel swapped out for mocha: it also starts with sweet cold brew whipped cream, but with a layer of dark mocha sauce, then a mocha Frappuccino (Frappuccino Roast coffee and milk, blended with ice), and then the sweet cold brew, whipped cream, and dark mocha drizzle.
The Frappuccinos aren't the only new Starbucks products we're getting this summer. According to a press release, Starbucks is also adding a Chicken Chorizo and Tortilla Sous Vide Egg Bite to its permanent menu. While we're not sure how weather-appropriate it is, it does sound pretty good. Like the Bacon & Gruyere and Egg White & Red Pepper Egg Bites, it's basically a small breakfast bun made with eggs, only it has chicken chorizo, chipotle salsa, and corn tortilla strips.
