Starbucks Releases Protein Blended Cold Brew

But only for a limited time.

It seems like just yesterday that Starbucks first released cold brew coffee, but that was three years ago, and the coffee chain has since come up with many variations on the drink, from Salted Cream Cold Foam Cold Brew to Butterfly Pea Lemonade Cold Brew. The latest Starbucks cold brew drinks to grace us are the energy-packed Almond Protein Blended Cold Brew and Cacao Protein Blended Cold Brew.

Starbucks's website calls the two new drinks "the new way to refuel." They both have plant-based protein (made of peas and brown rice, to be specific, according to USA Today), cold brew, and banana date fruit blend, but the other ingredients differ: The almond version has almondmilk and almond butter, while the coconut one contains coconutmilk and cacao.

The beverages cost $5.95 and will be for sale throughout the U.S. and Canada starting Tuesday, August 14, USA Today reports. The chain will also begin putting plant-based protein shots in other drinks upon request. But the cold brew drinks will only be around through this fall, according to Bustle, so get one while you can.
