Starbucks Is Opening Its Largest Starbucks Ever – And You Have to See Inside
Starbucks is opening its largest shop ever - and it looks like a real-life Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory ... but for coffee. The Starbucks Reserve Roastery Shanghai, which opens Dec. 5, is a whopping 30,000 square feet. That's more than half an acre devoted to coffee.
The 88-foot coffee bar was handcrafted by Chinese artisans and will be the longest Starbucks coffee bar in the world. As soon as you walk in, you'll see a towering two-story, 40-ton hand-engraved copper cask that replenishes the coffee silos throughout the shop.
The shop will also have a bakery and cafe with more than 80 menu items baked fresh daily.
The Starbucks Reserve Roastery Shanghai will also have a Teavana Bar, complete with tea curators who create custom drinks using tea and nitrogen - faaaancy!
Plus, when you whip out your cell phone and point at key features in the shop, you can live the first-ever Starbucks augmented reality experience, with prompts explaining where, exactly, those beans came from before landing in your cup.
This is the second-ever Starbucks Roastery - the first is in Seattle. And there's one coming to New York in 2018 and another to Chicago in 2019. If you can't wait that long and have always dreamed of a theme park-life coffee experience, better book a flight.
