The Starbucks Fall Menu Has Arrived and There's a Brand-New Drink You Have to Try

Autumn has officially arrived at Starbucks!

Every year, fall fanatics with a penchant for caffeine eagerly await the return of pumpkin-flavored drinks. The company's annual shift to its most-loved menu has become a way for customers to mark the unofficial start of the fall season. The arrival of all things pumpkin spice is like a signal, telling everyone it's time to dust off their favorite fall coats, break out their best fall soup recipes, and get ready to indulge in some seriously sweet fall desserts. Well good news, people—that day is today!

Starting August 24, fan favorites like the Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew will be available in Starbucks stores across the U.S. and Canada. You can also look forward to fall bakery items like the Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffin, Pumpkin Scone, and the beloved Pumpkin Loaf.

But the fall fun doesn't stop there! This year, a new autumn flavor is coming to the Starbucks menu—and it's unlike anything the coffee company has created before.

"Fall at Starbucks brings customers back to the nostalgic flavors of the season and our team used that inspiration to create a new flavor that celebrates those feelings of comfort and familiarity," Raegan Powell, senior manager on the Starbucks research and development team, said in a statement.

And so, the Apple Crisp Macchiato was born. This new fall drink, which pulls inspiration from a wide variety of apple flavors that peak during the season, is now available iced or hot at Starbucks stores for a limited time. While the combination of fruit and coffee is a new territory for Starbucks, the flavors complement each other well.

"Creating an ingredient with a spicy baked apple flavor was crucial to be able to bridge an autumn red apple to espresso," Powell said. "Consider how well a delicious slice of warm apple pie pairs with a cup of coffee or how well the combination of Starbucks roast signature espresso pairs with warm spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg."
