Fans of the spooky-season classic The Nightmare Before Christmas experienced a nightmare of their own last month while attempting to get their hands on the limited-edition Starbucks tumbler inspired by the film. The ghostly, all-black tumbler was made available on the shopDisney website last Friday, and it reportedly sold out within seconds.
A number of people turned to social media to express their frustration. One user even referred to the whole debacle as "a sick joke."
"Well, that was a sick joke. I literally refreshed at the stroke of 11:59 at 12 o’clock loaded the cart with my cup to check out and it’s apparently sold out already," one person on Instagram wrote.
"YOU NEED TO RESTOCK!!!!!! There definitely should have been a limit of 1 plus way more product based off all of the anticipation of this release!" another user added.
People on social media have also pointed out that the tumbler is selling for around $200 on Ebay.
"What were these going for originally? I see them for over $200 on ebay," one person posted.
Thankfully, we can all breathe a sigh of relief. It looks like fans will soon get exactly what they asked for because shopDisney is restocking the tumbler TONIGHT. ComicBook.com reports that The Nightmare Before Christmas tumblers will be available on the store's website on October 4 at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET.
