Starbucks' Beloved Red Cup Comes Back Nov. 2nd With Four New Designs

When Starbucks releases their red cups, you know the holiday season is here. On Nov. 2nd, the coffee giant released its newly designed red cups along with a new drink: a gingerbread oat milk chai latte! Holiday favorites from years past have returned as well, helping caffeine addicts get into the holiday spirit.

Every year Starbucks produces special red cups for the holiday season, adding an extra bit of cheer to every coffee drinkers’ day. Fans of the franchise are always excited to see what fun designs the chain will come with, and this year, they didn’t disappoint!

This year, there are four new designs: the Peppermint Swirl, Bauble Wrap, Party Plaid and Ribbon Spool. All of the designs feature swirls of red, green, and bright pink. There’s also the holiday cold cup design, which allows for iced-coffee-only drinkers to enjoy the holiday spirit as well. This design features white baubles on the clear plastic cup.

Along with the new red cup designs, Starbucks unveiled a new holiday drink: a gingerbread oat milk latte, available hot or iced. "It's a love letter to gingerbread and ginger," Mat Thornton, senior beverage developer at Starbucks said in a statement. "The gingerbread flavor amplifies the spice of the chai."

Holiday favorites from last year are also making a comeback, like the peppermint mocha, caramel brulée latte, and the chestnut praline latte. Baked cookies that customers raved over last year are also on sale now, including the peppermint brownie cake pop, cranberry bliss bar, and snowman cookie.

Starbucks has posted on Instagram four times to announce the launch of the holiday items, and fans are going wild. "Y'all made my Christmas dreams come true!!! Gingerbread!!! YESSS!!!" one user commented.

"The cups are so cute!" another user posted. "Also, what a fabulous surprise to have the gingerbread back!! I'm enjoying my first of many this morning."

"Starbucks you have delivered! Gingerbread is back and I couldn’t be happier!" one commenter wrote. "Not going to lie, I had a hot holiday drink this morning and I’m going back for an iced this afternoon!" they added.
