Starbucks Adds a New Pistachio-Flavored Drink to Their Menu

This article originally appeared on Clean Eating

Starbucks is getting nuts – literally. The every popular Pistachio Latte returns to the Starbucks menu in January for its third year in a row. The latte is a mashup of pistachio (duh) and a buttery topping paired with espresso and steamed milk. Not only is this beloved latte in stores, but a new nutty drink is being offered.

The Pistachio Cream Cold Brew is sweetened with vanilla syrup and topped with a pistachio cream foam with salted brown butter sprinkles.

The Review:

I taste-tested the Pistachio Cream Cold Brew and are here to provide an honest review. And here it is: for me, this drink is a Pistachi-no.

As a pistachio-fiend, I was excited to test out this new Starbucks flavor. Pistachio has such a distinct, nutty flavor that comes through significantly in ice cream, yogurt, cheesecake, you name it. But after one sip of the Pistachio Cream Cold Brew, I struggled to find the nutty flavor. The pistachio syrup is a little too mellow and subtle for me. I liked the creamy meld of cold brew and and foam, but I’m not sure I would be able to distinguish it from a regular cold brew.

Other coffee-lovers may disagree, though. On Starbuck’s Instagram, @anmelis.f comments, “Please keep this permanently!” @mandym1388 says, “This if my favorite cold brew yet! So amazing!”

So don’t take my word for it – head to Starbucks and try it out yourself. Go nuts.
