I don't know anyone that would be opposed to more Stanley Tucci on their television screen. Stanley is everyone's unproblematic fave, and now he'll be gracing us with his presence in a new CNN documentary called Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy.
In the series, Stanley will be exploring different regions of Italy including Rome, Sicily, Milan, and Florence. Once there, he'll learn about the history of the area and how that impacts the food that originated there. I'm predicting lots of amazing pasta and even better wine.
Stanley's family is from Italy, and he even lived in Florence in the '70s, according to Deadline. Not only will the four-part documentary be entertaining for us, it will also be a fun project inspired by Stanley's family history. Stanley told Deadline that his connection to Italy is part of the reason he was so excited about this opportunity.
"I wanted to do this series because I am fascinated by the diversity of Italian cuisine and set out to gain a better understanding of the country’s rich history and culture. This was a passion project and love letter to the place where my family is from," he said. "I am thrilled to be working with CNN on this project as an admirer of their reporting and original series, which are incredibly smart, compelling, and beautifully produced.”
Stanley himself is incredibly smart, compelling, and beautiful, so I have no doubt in my mind this series will be just the same. Although I'm sure watching it will make me pretty hungry. Buon Appetito!
