Stanley Tucci isn't done exploring Italy! The Emmy and Golden-Globe winning actor will once again be taking viewers on a culinary tour of the country in a new docuseries.

A year after CNN canceled Tucci's beloved series Searching for Italy, National Geographic greenlit TucciThe Heart of Italy (working title).

"National Geographic is all about adventure and exploration, and I am honored to take viewers once again to explore Italy through the lens of food," Tucci said in a press release in late 2023. "In Italy’s many distinct regions there is always something new to discover and I’m more than excited to begin the process in partnership with BBC Studios."

A premiere date has not been announced, but production was set to begin in January 2024.

What is Stanley Tucci's new food series about?

Tucci will be embarking on new culinary adventures in Italy. The food series will follow the Winchell star "as he unlocks the distinct flavors that define each region and discovers the rich versatility of Italy through those he meets along the journey," according to National Geographic.

The actor will travel to 10 regions in Italy, including Sicily, Trentino-Alto Adige, Veneto, Marche and Lazio. In every episode, Tucci will venture "off the beaten track to meet fascinating people from all walks of life who will share their stories and the extraordinary dishes that make Italian food the world’s most loved cuisine."

How many episodes of Stanley Tucci's food series will there be?

The upcoming show, produced by BBC Studios and Tucci’s Salt Productions, is a 10-part docuseries.
