Stamp Out Hunger food drive to collect goods in Rockville

Apr. 30—The Rockville Rotary Club, Parke Heritage High School Interact members and Parke County Food Pantry volunteers will be assisting with the 32nd annual National Association of Letter Carriers food drive May 11 in the Rockville area.

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive provides residents with an easy way to donate food to those in need, according to a release. Customers simply leave their donation of non-perishable goods next to their mailbox by 9 a.m. May 11.

Postal carriers will soon be in the process of distributing special collection bags to patron mailboxes. Donations can also be deposited in barrels located in post office lobbies.

Volunteers from Rotary, Interact and the Food Pantry will help collect the food donations that day along the postal routes and deliver them to the Parke County Food Pantry. In addition to helping letter carriers pick up donations, volunteers also sort, box and inspect food for damage/age at the food pantry.
