Twitter in hysterics over rude-looking stained glass window in church
Twitter is having a field day over a suggestive looking stained glass window design.
Stained glass windows are a common feature in churches and other religious buildings. In churches, it is customary for these decorative features to depict images from the life of Jesus Christ, adding an attractive focal point which can be viewed from both inside and outside of the building.
But a photo of one particular stained glass window has gone viral on Twitter for all the wrong reasons.
The image, taken in an unknown location, depicts Mary the Virgin holding a semi-clad Jesus Christ in her arms. It is believed to be a homage to The Pietà, a sculpture by Michaelangelo.
Sharing the photo on Twitter, user @Rosieviw wrote: “What, exactly..., is Mary holding ??” [sic]

The two-toned glass depicted Christ’s legs – assumedly used to create a shadowing effect – is suggesting a very rude scene to some users.
Cue countless jokes in the comments thread below the tweet.

Last month, shoppers at clothes brand FatFace were left chuckling after spotting a “rude” pattern on a Christmas jumper.

The ‘Felicity Fairisle Jumper’, which costs £56 from FatFace, is printed with a black and red snowflake pattern. But shoppers pointed out that the sweater, which is from Holly Willoughby’s stylist Angie Smith's The Stylist Edit, has been designed with what appears to be a row of breasts.
Earlier this year, a Marks and Spencer “yoga bunny” released as part of its Easter range went viral because of its seemingly sexual stance.
One Marks and Spencer sales assistant joked on Twitter, “Prayers for those of us who have to try and sell this product with a straight face appreciated.”
