New Spy x Family Code: White Trailer Looks And Sounds Like A Banger

Spy x Family’s upcoming film, subtitled Code: White, is set to be released next week in Japan, and Toho Animation has been ramping up its marketing in the lead up. A new Japanese trailer was released yesterday for the film, giving us our best look at it yet, and it looks and sounds like an absolute banger.
The trailer opens on some shadowy characters talking with tense music in the background, before cutting to Anya opening an ornate box containing what looks to be a delicious chocolate truffle, her face beaming. Then we cut away to a montage of characters underneath an absolute banger of a song, complete with jazzy brass and the funkiest slap bass you’ve ever heard.
The song is the theme song for Spy x Family Code: White, and it’s called Soulsoup. It was written by Official HiGE DANdism, the band that originally performed the original opening for season 1 of the anime. It was subsequently replaced by Souvenir by Bump of Chicken, then with Kura Kura by Ado at the start of season 2 of Spy x Family.
The rest of the trailer is a cute little montage of Anya, Loid, and Yor holidaying during the Winter – it’s quite cute – and being chased by the baddies. We also see that Anya, somehow, accidentally eats the truffle-looking object, and the bad guys do not seem to like that.
Spy x Family Code: White had its western release confirmed last month, with Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment (which owns Crunchyroll) securing the rights to the film in North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, the Nordics, Portugal, Spain, and Switzerland. That’s a long list.

Spy x Family Code: White will be released in theaters in Japan on December 22, 2023, and everywhere else in the world in 2024.
