The day has finally come when I ditch all of my winter perfumes filled with heavy patchouli and woods and restock my perfume tray with bright, fresh spring fragrances. And I'm extra excited now because all the new spring fragrances for 2024 are so good, y'all. We're talkin' fruity florals that smell unique and soft, fresh takes on gourmand perfumes, and vivid florals without all the powderiness. So, I completed the extremely difficult task of compiling all of the best spring fragrances for 2024, including picks from Kayali, Replica, Prada, and more. Here are my top picks:

Strawberry Eau de Parfum

This was the only perfume I brought on a week-long trip to Italy last spring, because it's the perfect mix of sweet and fresh. TBQH, I barely smell anything in this blend other than the strawberry, which adds so much deliciousness to the scent that it's a bit overpowering. However, I genuinely don't mind and actually love how bright this is. It feels like a spring and summer take on all those rich vanilla perfumes I wore during fall and winter.

This fruity, fizzy scent is like the best lychee martini you'll ever have. It's so bright and fun—it feels like a party every time I spritz it on. Some reviewers even say it smells like gummy worms and soda, which is exactly my vibe.

FYI: Senior Social Media Editor Maddie Hiatt wore this perfume on her wedding day, because it's so soft, precious, and pretty. But it's also an excellent pick for a signature scent. It's a beautiful mix of bright citrus with white florals and warm amber and musk, giving it a totally well-rounded scent profile. It's so well blended that it truly just smells like how you imagine a perfume to smell. No wonder it's such a crowd pleaser.

This watery, crisp perfume reminds me of a foggy morning, with dew covering the ground. It's loaded with watery and rain notes that evoke an aquatic scent—while citrusy bergamot, earthy moss, and bright jasmine add a springy touch to really balance the perfume. This scent is entirely unisex also (obvi, every scent is), not veering too "masculine" or "feminine" at all.

Dare I say, this is the floral perfume for people who think they hate florals. I wear every perfume under the sun (I have like 200 at this point, lol), but rarely grab for my floral scents because I find them scratchy and powdery. But Forever in Love defies all floral perfume logic, IMO. It's shockingly bright and fresh, thanks to the green pear in the top notes, but the gardenia is majorly present, giving that green, muted, flowery goodness to the overall scent. It's got a cedarwood note in the base that really rounds out the scent too.

Truly, I have gotten endless compliments when I've worn this perfume at the office. It's fresh and light, yet has an amazing scent projection. I'm a believer in florals now, mmk?

As I type this, I'm wearing this perfume posted up on a patio in Tulum (humblebrag), because it's the dreamy mix of sweet, fresh, and bright. Blood orange and fig add a fruity touch to this scent that smells v joyful and fresh, while tonka bean and sage keep it grounded, adding a zing of saltiness, IMO. When I met up with everyone (read: A room full of discerning beauty editors) at dinner last night, I was met with a wave of compliments on how good I smelled.

How to choose the best spring fragrance for you:

Decide on a scent family.

Not all spring fragrances have to be floral and fresh. I suggest trying an aquatic scent, like Clean Reserve H2Eau Water Lotus, if you prefer something lightweight and juicy. Or if you love a fruity scent, try Malin+Goetz Strawberry. But there's also a plethora of options for ya if you want a traditional floral scent this spring, like my favorite from LoveShackFancy.

Consider the intensity level.

If you want a long-lasting scent that you don't have to reapply, make sure you choose an eau de parfum (as opposed to an eau de toilette). Reminder: Eau de parfums (or EDPs) have a stronger concentration of perfume oils than eau de toilettes (EDTs), so they're generally going to have more longevity and a stronger sillage.

FWIW, most of my favorite spring fragrances above are EDPs because I despise having to reapply my perfume throughout the day. But if you prefer something lighter and softer, try an EDT, like Replica When the Rain Stops.
