Split Week Puts Relationships to the Test as Broken-Hearted Contestant Heads Home from ‘Bachelor in Paradise’

‘Split Week’ is full of shockers.

Passion and pain highlighted Bachelor in Paradise’s “Split Week.”

Monday night’s eighth episode picked up with Lace’s emotional return to the beach to confront Rodney about their relationship.

And later, more lovers had to decide where they stood with their original guys and gals.

Are Rodney and Lace still together on Bachelor in Paradise?

That would be a big fat no! 

As viewers saw last week, the first beach gals had been sent away to a different Mexican property during Split Week. New women hit the sand to compete for their guys.

At in a dramatic cliffhanger, we saw Lace return to the Mexican resort to declare her love for Rodney only to find that he was having a cozy date with Eliza.

The other guys were stunned to see Lace back, and Rodney admitted to her that he’d connected with Eliza.

The football hunk told Lace, “I want to be honest with you. I don’t want to waste your time at all.”

Finally Rodney simply said, “Lace, I’m sorry.”

Who went home tonight on Bachelor in Paradise?

Lace, who didn’t want anyone else but him, went into crying meltdown mode, saying, “I’m going home! This all sucks.”

Rodney hugged her but Lace stormed away to say goodbye to the group.

As a devastated Lace took her van ride off the show, Rodney vowed to court new flame Eliza.

Did Brandon miss Serene on BIP?

While visiting, Lace had revealed to the other guys how five new men had been introduced in their digs.

Brandon worried his bond with Serene would be broken.

Serene missed Brandon and didn’t give the new studs the time of day, but he didn’t know that and cried to the cameras.

“I’m mentally losing my s---!” Brandon said in confessional. “I’m in love with that girl!”

But BIP supercouple Jared Haibon and Ashley Iaconetti recently told Parade.com that Brandon and Serene are the duo that could go the distance.

They “are definitely the strongest couple and I don’t even foresee them having any hiccup,” Ashley said.

Jared added to Parade.com, “I could totally see them getting engaged at the end of this thing.”

What happened with the Bachelor in Paradise girls in exile?

After Jill left, Jacob quickly romanced newcomer Kate. But Jill was missing him at the new lodging despite the entrance of other hot guys.

Host Jesse Palmer announced Lace’s departure and asked the remaining women how they were feeling.

Jesse realized some were open to new men and others weren’t. Based on group feedback, Jesse sent Rick and Olu home, while Alex, Adam, and Tyler would stay.

Did Logan move on from Shanae?

Shanae had enjoyed time with Tyler, but still yearned for her beach guy, Logan.

But he was making other connections. Although Logan had already dated Sarah, Kate told him. “I want you.”

He agreed!

Kate told the cameras, “I have a lot of fun with Jacob but it just feels different with Logan.”

Jacob said in confessional that Kate could be a long-term love—but she soon told him otherwise.

Kate indicated to the Tarzan lookalike that she preferred Logan.

Jacob was upset but as he was friends with Logan from their time on The Bachelorette last season, accepted her decision.

Logan explained to a sad Sarah that he was with Kate.

Sarah later told Danielle, “Logan really hurt me.” It particularly stung because she’d considered Kate a friend.

Kate chose Logan for her date card and the two gave each other sexy massages.

She “hit me like a hurricane,” Logan said of his new girlfriend.

Did Victoria begin a new romance?

Although she had a relationship with Johnny waiting back at the beach, Victoria was attracted to newcomer Alex.

The hunk got Victoria’s attention by rubbing her head!

Victoria told the cameras that Alex was 33 and Johnny just 25, making her worry about his maturity.

On their dinner date, she told Alex he reminded her of some of her exes.

Meanwhile, back at the original location, Johnny told Brandon he was “leaning towards falling in love” with Victoria.

Johnny confided he’d only had one serious relationship in his entire life.

Victoria told Alex she wasn’t looking to date around and wanted kids.

She said she had concerns with her previous connection and told the cameras she wanted to give Alex a chance.

“Alex is every girl’s f---ing dream!” she cried in confessional.

What happened between Brittany and Tyler?

Despite her ongoing romance with Andrew, Brittany vibed with Tyler at the Estates property.

Brittany and Tyler agreed to talk to Andrew and Shanae, respectively, so they could be together.

They had a makeout session and Brittany told the former The Bachelorette suitor, “You’re so hot.”

How did Shanae react?

The blonde beauty was irate when she discovered that Brittany and Tyler had stepped away together.

Shanae, who’d had a hot yoga date with Tyler previously, discussed the situation with her friend Genevieve.

Genevieve decided to find the couple and saw them kissing. She hoped that Logan hadn’t found someone else or Shanae would freak out.

Shanae was optimistic in confessional about returning to her other relationship with Logan.

But cameras cut back to the beach to show Logan and Kate happily in each other’s arms.

A preview for Tuesday’s show revealed that more relationships would blow up as the OG women returned to Paradise!
