Splash Mountain log at Disney World sinks with guests on ride for third time in 2 years

For the third time in about two years, a log at Splash Mountain sank with guests aboard, and Disney lovers are shocked.

The log ride is set to shut down after a 30-year run at Disney World. It’s set to be replaced with Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, an homage to The Princess and the Frog.

Facebook user Ted Klein shared footage of the recent incident. The last time a log sank with passengers was in April 2022 and in August 2020 before that.

Footage reshared on Twitter by @MagicbandManiac showed parents and children wading through the water on the half-sunken log. Mothers and fathers tried to bring their children to land and safety.

Fortunately, no one was hurt or injured during the commotion. According to Inside the Magic, “The situation was resolved with guests evacuating and getting replacement clothing, as well as free Lightning Lane, passes.”

“What a perfect metaphor for what happens when all you do is focus on maximizing profit and literally nothing else,” @magic_moff said on Twitter.
