Spiritual life: Day of Pentecost focus of Sunday service

LA GRANDE — Faith Lutheran Church will gather to worship in La Grande at 10 a.m. Sunday, May 19, on the Day of Pentecost.
This is a day that the church recognizes when the Holy Spirit descended upon the disciples, allowing people to hear them proclaim Jesus Christ in their own language. This occurred 50 days after Jesus rose from the dead. He had told them previously, "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now" (John 16:12). The Holy Spirit continues to guide Christians in the truth of Jesus Christ.
Faith Lutheran will have its monthly church council meeting after the Divine service.
