Spider-Man 2 Update Adds New Suits, Features, and an Accidental Dev Mode

After five months of wait, Insomniac Games has finally released a major update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, adding tons of new features and, unfortunately, access to a developer mode.
The update adds long-awaited features that fans have been asking for since launch, including the ability to change the time of day, mission replay, new accessibility options, and New Game+ mode.
While that's all great, the update also allowed players to access the developer console, giving players a glimpse at upcoming/canceled plans for the game's DLCs, including references to a "Beetle Villain Arc".
Insomniac has released a statement addressing the problem, stating that a new patch is on the way to block access to the dev mode. The developer also warns users that using the menu could corrupt save files and trophy progress, so proceed with caution if you're still using that version.
⚠️ We're aware the latest game update may have inadvertently allowed access to a development game menu. There's a hotfix on the way.
Please note that using this menu could corrupt your saves and trophy progress.
There is no risk associated with playing the game as intended.— Insomniac Games (@insomniacgames) March 7, 2024
The update comes at an unfortunate time for Insomniac Games as the studio is still reeling from the effects of its recent data hack, which was far more malicious. While the update doesn't include any personal employee information, it still ruins the surprise of the game's upcoming expansions.
Beyond that though, the update is also cause for celebration with Insomniac's official collaboration with Gameheads, a non-profit organization that trains low-income youth groups and youth of color in the Bay Area. The Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack, which includes two new suits for Peter and Miles, and photo mode additions, will go on sale on March 7, 2024, for $4.99. PlayStation will donate 100% of the price for each purchase in the United States to Gameheads (up to $1 million). The new suits will be made free to download after the partnership period, which ends on April 5, 2024.
