In fact, we’re so committed to finding the most plush, soft, barely there bras that we’ve spent hundreds of hours testing almost every one imaginable; bras for petite chests, bras for large chests, strapless bras, bralettes, cotton bras, lace braces — you name it. In fact, there wasn’t a moment in 2023 when we weren’t trying out one of the many styles, observing how they poked, lifted, and carried our girls.

A smooth, seamless, wireless, and strapless bra that stays put and provides support seems too good to be true, but we found it all in this Soma bra. It’s perfect to wear under skin-tight clothing or anything sleeveless, including shapewear. Due to the nature of the wireless bra, it didn’t dig or poke into the skin. But thanks to the sticky spandex material on the interior of the cups, they stayed in place impressively — even on larger chests — and didn’t leave any imprints or lose their adhesive ability over time. The bandeau-style band also has a row of four hooks, which certainly feels secure around the body. But don’t worry, removable straps are provided should you want additional security.

A Bralette? For big breasts? Big yes, especially with this Wacoal option that’s made for larger chests. Half the cup is made with double lining, which accounts for a lot of the support. The lace portion meets in the middle with a wide center, securing the chest with a thick band. Because of its full coverage cups, we always feel properly tucked in. The beautiful and intricate lace details were a nice change of pace from the boring and matronly styles that bras for big breasts are often known for.

You absolutely can get a little push-up action in a wireless bra (no, this is not a juxtaposition). Take this option from Aerie, for example, which we tested on both a C and DD+ chest. Rather than an overwhelming or slightly deceiving push-up, it created a natural lift for a perky appearance. It reversed any signs of sagging and held the chest up in an honorable manner. And it did all of this comfortably — the bra felt like a molded hammock on our chests, allowing it to rest in great support. Everything from the cups to the band felt deliciously soft and gentle on the skin. Honestly, we’re confident when we say you’re going to end up wearing this almost every day!

Remember when Brie Larson went viral on Twitter for hacking the bra-under-a-tank look? Well, we set out to test the exact bra she wore, which she revealed was from Chantelle, along with a number of its ultra-supportive, buttery-soft bras. I personally tried this Day to Night Smooth Custom-Fit Bra, and it remains one of my favorite full-coverage bras. The cups are soft and flexible, laying perfectly flat against my chest — even on my small breasts. On a sad day, I’m an A-cup, and even then, there isn’t any gaping around the seams. The bra looks especially good underneath form-fitting T-shirts, for that reason, making the chest look rounded and lifted without any uncomfortable push-up action.
