Emerald Pellot

With the Fourth of July just days away, it’s time to get patriotic.

In The Know’s cocktail of the week, a star-spangled blueberry mojito, will help relieve some stress while showing off your patriotic spirit. Sip this refreshing, fruity cocktail while you relax, unwind and prepare for any fun festivities.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries, plus extra for garnish

  • 10 fresh mint leaves

  • 2 tsp. sugar

  • Juice of 2 limes

  • 4 oz. white rum

  • 3 oz. blue curaçao

  • 6 oz. club soda

  • Ice

To make a patriotic blueberry mojito, muddle the mint leaves and sugar in a cocktail shaker using the end of a wooden spoon or muddler. Next, add the lime and blueberries and continue muddling.

Place the rum and blue curaçao into the muddled mixture and shake well. Pour the drink through a strainer into two glasses filled with ice. Finally, top the drink off with club soda and garnish with blueberries.
