Will Spencer and Alex Survive on This Week's Episode of '1923'

We learn the answer to last week's cliffhanger when '1923' returns.

If you've been watching 1923, you'll know last week's episode was a cliffhanger! Teonna (Aminah Nieves) is on the run while viewers wonder if Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) and Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer) survived the tugboat v. ghost ship match-up.

In the previous episode, Spencer and Alex were trying to make their way back to Montana but the journey proved to be an arduous one. Even with the "modern" conveniences of ships and trains, their trek from Africa back to the states would still take minimum of two months. In a hurry to get back home, Spencer opts to take a tugboat that's leaving the next day instead of waiting several weeks for the sturdier ocean liner to depart though that decision may have been an ill-fated one.

The little tugboat ran amok with a ghost ship that sent the boat tumbling in its wake and left viewers to wonder if Spencer and Alex survived. In this week's episode, "One Ocean Closer to Destiny," we'll learn if they survived or if their journey ends in a watery grave? If they did survive, how long can they last in shark-infested waters with no fresh drinking water in the blazing sun?

Back in the U.S., Cara (Helen Mirren) and Will (Robert Patrick) interview would-be livestock agents while Jacob (Harrison Ford) slowly recovers from the gunfight as he plots his revenge against Banner Creighton (Jerome Flynn) and his men.

Father Renaud (Sebastian Roche) wastes no time in sending the law after Teonna. On the run, Teonna is assisted by Hank (Michael Greyeyes) who intends to safely escort her back to her father and her people. Is Hank perhaps a great-great relative of Mo (Moses Brings Plenty) on Yellowstone? Is this the beginning of a generations-long relationship of Hank's family protecting the Rainwaters?

A new episode of 1923 drops Sunday on Paramount+.
