Speedo-Wearing Skier Turns Heads At California Ski Resort

Down, long underwear, ski socks, Gore-Tex, and Speedos. One of these ski outerwear items is not like the other. I'll let you do the math on that.

Recently, a skier was spotted at Big Bear Mountain Resort, California, wearing nothing but a tiny pair of swim trunks in a video from snowboarder Audrey Doan.

While it's unclear when exactly this video was filmed (presumably, it was this season), the weather at Big Bear Mountain is downright balmy right now compared to the rest of North America. The resort's mountain report says the slopes should be in the 40s this weekend.

Therefore, the poor skier in this video probably didn't suffer hypothermia, which would've been an inevitable outcome had they performed this stunt somewhere in Montana or Utah.

Bear Mountain, per @jerrysofbearmountain, seems to have a problem with skiers wearing little to no clothing (or is it a solution?).

Several of the page's posts include skiers wearing minimal clothing, like this one.

I, for one, don't see the appeal of going tarps off while skiing. Sure, it's possible to ski without a shirt or snow pants on spring days at certain resorts without going hypothermic. But just because you can doesn't necessarily mean you should.

My primary concern has less to do with temperature and more to do with the ever-dreaded snow burn. Spring corn snow will give you a wicked rash if you fall on it.

But hey, who am I to yuck someone else's yum? Skiing's about having fun, and if exposing yourself to elements fits into your definition of fun, I say have at it. Try not to fall if you can, though.
